21.01.12 NETT Presentation Evening
The NETT club put on a great evening at the Derwent Manor Hotel near Consett and a good time was had by all. Thanks to everyone involved in making it a memorable occasion.
Sadly it should have been our 2011 NETT Adult Champion Winner, Mark Watson that was handing out the trophies to all those worthy winners, so before the proceedings started, as a mark of respect everyone in the room stood and clapped for a minute. Understandably the Watson family didn’t attend the presentation, but it was really nice to see Mark’s best friend and business partner, John Pattinson there to accept the Champions trophy in Mark’s honour.
As always Oli Coates was on hand to take the photo’s and we thank him for the ones below.

18.01.12 ACU Youth/Adult Licence Clarification
Below is the new wording, which will be in the 2012 ACU Handbook for age restrictions.
Adult Quad
15 Years Up to 550cc max 2 cylinders 2 stroke
15 Years Up to 800cc 4 stroke max 1 cylinder
(Subject to the applicant holding an annual ATV licence issued by the ACU or SACU and having had 2 years previous racing experience, if an applicant cannot meet the above criteria then the minimum age will be 16 years).
After reaching 15 years of age riders can apply for an Adult Quad Motocross licence and still retain a
250 Youth licence until the end of the year in which their 18th birthday falls.
This means riders may take both licences provided they meet the criteria.
If you are taking the dual licence for both Adult and Youth then you must choose which class you enter for at each event, you are not able to ride in both, this is the same ruling for Solo’s. What it does allow is, riders in the Youth to also compete in Adult events when there is no Youth classes available without affecting their Youth status.
17.01.12 BYQX latest:
In a recent unrelated ACU news article, the ACU made the statement that "The "ACU British Champion Title" can only be awarded where a Championship takes place over a minimum of three rounds". I have put it to the ACU, that being the case, how can we have a British Youth Quadcross Championship contested over just two rounds? There has been a fantastic offer to run a third round of the BYQX by one of the affiliated clubs and the ACU have said today that this will be considered by other members of the sub-committee and a decision taken.
Can I ask everyone to email Sonia Goggin sonia@acu.org.uk and just put
“2012 BYQX MINIMUM 3 ROUNDS”
as the Subject and send it. Leave a message with your views if you want, but please send as many emails as you can and save the Youth Championship from being turned into a farce.
Or do the same on the ACU Facebook
You will note that Rnd 5 of the Adult British Quadcross Championship at Langrish, that is to be mixed with the solo Maxxis British Championship, actually clashes with this year's Pont de Vaux! Whoops!!
With the dates confirmed for the Adult British Championship, we are still waiting for some clarification for the Youth classes.
