NORA MX - Badby 25.07.10

With the engine mods completed on Thursday along with the set-up on the dyno down at Adrenalin ATV, it was time for Adam to get a feel for the extra horsepower and different throttle response with just a week to go before the first round of the British Youth Championship, this was his practice session.
We arrived at Badby late Saturday afternoon, thank goodness it wasn’t raining, otherwise there would have been carnage in the paddock as no one would have got up the steep hill to park.
Walking the track, it was clear to see that the race was going to be won or lost going into the first corner as there were few places that you could make a pass, with nothing in the way of any real jumps, no berms, all the corners being either flat or off-camber. All in all it would have made a good section in a cross country event..... Still it wouldn’t do for all tracks to be the same and the view of the surrounding countryside was nice anyway.
Sunday morning practice went well with Adam reporting back that the engine felt a lot more powerful. He was eager to get out and race.

Moto 1 – Adam sat on the line nervously waiting for the gates to drop. His starts have been his weakest point all season and apart from a couple of practice laps the engine performance was still an unknown quantity. The gates dropped and Adam powered off the line up the steep hill. As they started funnelling into the tight first corner, Adam’s outside gate position and line allowed him to keep the power on and he slipped nicely through in 5th, (3rd in class) with Luke Cooper and Harry Miller in front, the other two being hybrids..... Fantastic!! Into lap 2 and he's trying to close in on Harry when he stalls the engine and with nowhere to go on this narrow track there’s a pile-up behind with just Matt Payne managing to slip through. Adam quickly restarts and sets after Matt, this time he tries a little too hard and enters a corner too fast rolling the bike and landing on his ar*e. Rejoining the race a lap down, he rides on, pulling off the track every now and then to let others by so as not to hinder their race.
Moto 2 – Last in the previous race gives you last gate pick for the next race, not where he wanted to be, Adam gets blocked and has to settle for 4th, Luke Cooper again leading, Josh Coombs 2nd, Harry 3rd. Behind Adam, Josh Waring is on a charge after a bad start and with 2 laps to go he catches up and makes a pass on one of the drop-off’s, into the last lap and Jamie Morgan is also through, relegating Adam to a disappointing 6th.
Moto 3 – With nothing to lose it was out for the final moto and what a brilliant start he got! At one point Josh Coombs edged in front as they headed up the start straight, but Adam didn’t back off and he tucked in behind Luke. They disappeared out of sight, where would Adam be when they re-emerged from the top of the circuit? Still right on Luke’s tail, that will do nicely! Behind Adam were Josh C and Harry, but Adam made sure neither would get close enough to make a challenge, so that’s where they stayed and Adam crossed the line just two seconds behind Luke. It was exactly the confidence boost he needed after his bad crash at Pontrilas.
Final positions - 1st Luke Cooper, 2nd Harry Miller, 3rd Josh Coombs....... 5th Adam

NETT Rnd 7 – Thoresway Honda Motoparc 11.07.10
Adam gets back to the action with some excellent racing at this superb venue in the NETT racing calendar.
The Linconshire track is set within a deep valley and provides for some really fast action with table-tops, doubles, step-ups, drop-off’s and some very big hills!

With no rain now for some weeks the dust was always going to be an issue, no amount of watering would have kept it down on this hard-packed track, so with the memory of that dust blinding start at Pontrilas still in the back of Adam’s mind he makes a hesitant start to Moto 1 at the back of the pack, then set about picking them off one by one, with some great riding and jumping, eventually finishing a brilliant 4th.
Moto 2 - Adam gets a good start and battles with (Championship 3rd placed) Tom Charlesworth for a couple of laps while they try to pass one of the hybrids, Tom makes it through, but Adam has to wait a little longer to make his move, by which time Tom has opened up a gap that proved just a little too much for Adam to bridge. Dean Colhoun was having a good ride out in front with Leon Rogers having to take 2nd spot for a change and Josh Waring, on his home track, putting in consistent laps to finish in 3rd place.
Moto 3 – After a bad start things didn’t get much better for Adam. Probably not fully race fit following his accident 3 weeks ago and obviously tiring, he was making hard work of things. After eventually passing Scott Pounder, (who wasn’t having a good day) he now had a hybrid to contend with, sitting between himself and Frazer McFadden in 5th place, despite numerous challenges, unfortunately that’s where he stayed, finishing 12 seconds behind Frazer.
Final results 1st Leon, 2nd Dean, 3rd Tom, Adam 5th.

NORA MX - Enstone 04.07.10
2 weeks since breaking his collar bone Adam is lining up behind the gate again thanks to Brian Simpson and a couple of laser treatment sessions at The Physiotherapy Health Centre in Ipswich.
It’s been a hectic fortnight since Pontrilas, repairing Adam and rebuilding his Raptor. The rolling chassis complete with new frame was returned to Adrenalin ATV on Friday for them to fit the new engine. Tested and dyno’d, thankfully, Adrenalin arrived at Enstone Sunday morning with Adam’s quad ready to race.
We knew Adam wouldn’t be race fit, so the format for the day was just to go out and enjoy, stay out of trouble and get some points and apart from a couple of temptations, that’s what he did.

Back on the line 12 days after the treatment.............Temptation gets the better of him as he tries his luck
Luke Cooper made a clean sweep of things with 3 firsts and Harry Miller was also having a good day with 3 seconds, while Josh Coombs put his Enstone demons behind him with enough points to give him third overall.
Thanks to all Adam's great sponsors for their support.

NORA Rnd 6 – Pontrillas 20.06.10.
Adam takes his first and hopefully his last trip to A&E.
The track looks excellent, arguably the first proper MX track NORA have used, with a good mix of just about everything, the setting was fantastic, the weather was perfect, what more could you ask for?
Adam had a good practice session and we made a few adjustments to the suspension set-up after to compensate for the fast corners and the big jump after the bomb hole, before the first race.

Moto 1 – Being 4th in the championship, Adam had a reasonable gate pick after the hybrids had taken their positions. The gate dropped and into the first corner with Frazer McFadden (245) just in front and Matt Payne (46) just behind. Adam wasted no time passing Frazer and set his sights on Harry Miller (5) who was holding 6th place, meanwhile out in front, NORA’s modified class leader Luke Cooper (69) was in for a surprise when Leon Rogers (151), (current NETT points leader) started knocking on his door and just a little further back Josh Coombs was having a brilliant ride after some considerable time off with mechanical problems.
As the race progressed the rider splintered into separate groups, with Adam’s group comprising of Harry Miller (in front) and Frazer McFadden (just Behind). The slightest mistake from any of them would lose their position. It was Frazer who made the first mistake, falling back, leaving Harry and Adam to battle it out. They matched each other over the jumps clearing the big table top, Adam would close in on the corners and over the whoops, but Harry would manage to pull away on the straights. Adam was happy the bike was set-up perfectly. A thoroughly enjoyable race!
Moto 2 – The gates had malfunctioned in the previous race and had hastily been replaced with a bungee cord. Rather than the rider taking their positions whilst the preceding group were on the track, they were hurried into the start, which unsettled a few including Adam who had to quickly strap his helmet on! The 5 second board came up, the cord released, the riders disappeared into the first corner with Adam just visible towards the back of the pack. We waited at the bottom of the track to see the riders reappear as they scorched back down the hillside, but no Adam! Apparently after the first corner and drop-off there was a stretch of deep clay gloop, Adam had strayed off the race line blinded by the dust, hit the gloop at speed which just stopped the bike dead in its tracks, throwing him down hard and the bike tossling end over end. He was soon to be followed by Chris Morris (hybrids) who had problems on the start line and met with the same fateful mud and a near miss with Adam. Fortunately Chris was able to climb back on his bike, although unable to complete the race. Meanwhile Adam was being attended to by the paramedics who suspected a broken collar bone. Josh Coombs also took a fall which ended his days racing.
A trip to A&E later confirmed our worst fears; yes he has a broken collar bone. They said it could take up to 5 weeks to heal, but they were unable to comment on the bike repairs.

One side is about four inches shorter than the other.... Maybe okay for oval grasstrack?
Final results – Leon Rogers 1st, Luke Cooper 2nd & Daniel Roach 3rd. Well done to NORA newcomers Leon & Daniel.

NETT Rnd 6 – Barnoldswick 13.06.10.
Adam scores his first podium of the season.
With dad Jason marshalling and granddad Nigel on holiday, Adam was left to look after himself for the day and grabs third place. It's reported that Adam has since sacked both family members as he can obviously do much better on his own!!
Where’s the season gone? With just four rounds left (including this), first place in the championship almost beyond reach with win after win from Leon Rogers and second place slowly slipping away after consistent riding from Tom Charlesworth, Frazer McFadden’s third place is the present target for Adam currently in fourth, that said, I’m sure it is for Scott Pounder sitting close behind in fifth and Dean Colhoun (after missing a round) back in sixth...... Still, we’ve seen stranger things happen, upsetting what you would have considered a dead cert. It’s not over ‘til the large lady sings!!
With the promise of a tuned engine to come shortly it was down to Adam to prove what can be achieved with a completely stock (factory road legal) engine and a superb suspension set-up with the Houser +4 A-arms and Custom Axis shocks supplied by Adam’s main sponsors Adrenalin ATV.
Arriving early race day morning, Adam said “The track looks great, immaculately prepared, I can't wait to get out there".
Moto 1 – “I got a bad start, but was soon on a charge after Scott Pounder only to get held up by one of the slower hybrids. I wasn’t happy when I realised time was running out and I was going to have to settle for fifth place”.
Moto 2 – “I had a slightly better start this time and quickly made a few passes. This time I was determined to pass the hybrid that has been holding me up all season, I planned my move and cut inside going in to one of the corners blocking him from out accelerating me on the exit, now I could set about putting a bit of distance from Scott in fourth”.
Adam returned to the paddock satisfied with his position and was eager to get out for the final moto. What could wreck this day for Adam? Well a little rain did that perfectly as Adam watched the pro class sliding around up and down hills until the flag was waved and the rest of the event was called off.
On the podium – 1st Leon Rogers, 2nd Tom Charlesworth and 3rd Adam.

NETT Rnd 5 - Duns 23.05.10.
This has to be one of the best tracks in the racing calendar! Every year we come and it just gets better and better........ And the weather helped!!

Moto 1 – After a slow start out of the gate Adam caught Frazer McFadden in 4th place and there ensued the first battle of the day. Try as he might he couldn’t get past Frazer and with just 2 laps to go he makes a mistake, running into the back of Frazer and Adam crashes out, limping back to the paddock via the finish line with a bent front rim and a tyre leaking air.
Dean Colhoun (43) took the win ahead of Leon Rogers (151) and Scott Pounder (111)
Moto 2 – It was looking like Adam & Frazer were set for another fight, but this time one of the slower hybrids intervened. Frazer managed to push through, but Adam’s underpowered bike would struggle on the straights and so it was here he was stuck for the next 2 laps waiting for a chance, while Frazer in 5th opened up a gap between them. Once through, Adam slowly reeled Frazer back in finishing just 3 seconds behind in 6th place.
Dean took the win again with Leon second and Tom Charlesworth (55) who had a DNF in the first race, finishing third.
Moto 3 – A good start from Adam saw him sitting comfortably behind Scott Pounder for the first couple of laps with Frazer a few seconds behind in 5th. Everything was going fine until Scott and Adam caught up with the same hybrid that had blocked Adam in the previous race, Scott passed, but Adam lacked the power to make it through. Dean Colhoun was next to pass, but Adam was still stuck and Frazer was closing in. Over the final jump to the finish and Adam stupidly follows the hybrid towards the chequered flag, the hybrid slows before the line, Frazer seizes the opportunity and powers through to take 5th place from Adam by hundredths of a second.
Leon Rogers took the win from Tom Charlesworth with Dean Colhoun third.

Overall : 1st Dean Colhoun, 2nd Leon Rogers, 3rd Scott Pounder, 5th Adam.
The bike handled perfectly, with only a few adjustments to the Houser/Custom Axis set-up to cater for this big jumping, fast track.
Thanks to all Adam's great sponsors for their support.

NORA Rnd 3 - Mepal 16.05.10.
We'll fight them on the beaches, but give me some sand tyres first!!!
What an excellent venue!! Paddock area, spectating areas and track, all perfect. We even had sunshine and a barbeque, what more could you ask for....... Well Adam would ask for some SAND TYRES, should we come here again.
We knew it was going to be sandy, but for one event was it worth spending all that money? As Adam’s 250 was originally a factory road legal bike we had a nice new set of road legal balloon tyres that we could use to give us the necessary ground clearance we would need..... Ground clearance.. perfect - Traction.. not too clever to say the least. Ah well he’ll just have to get on with it!!
Moto 1 - First of all I would like to thank the person or persons responsible for tampering with the suspension on Adam’s bike (32 clicks doesn't happen by accident). I hope it was meant as a practical joke without malice, but if I catch you I’ll chop your nasty little fingers off!!!
With the rebound wound up tight on the back shock, Adam bounced his way around the already rutty track (I don’t know how he managed to stay on). Taking advantage of Matt Payne (46) and Josh Coombs (49) coming together he moved up 9th place behind Frazer McFadden (245) and Harry Miller (5). A couple of laps later Josh came back through, pushing Adam back to 10th, Luke Cooper (69) took the win.

Moto 2 – Now with some movement in the back shock, but still no grip, things were a lot better with Adam making progress through the field, pushing Elliot Downes (47) for his 5th place, while all the time fending off Josh Coombs. With the choice of 2 lines through the deep rutted corners, Adam would have first pick of the faster outside line, while Josh would try to take the shorter inside line, every time it would look like Josh was through, but with the speed Adam was able to carry through he would pull ahead again. Half distance and Adam looses grip in a corner and gets stuck, Josh is that close, he has nowhere to go and they are both stuck, with yellow flags waving, Josh helps Adam out and they are back in the race, but all is lost as the rest of the field has gone past.

Moto 3 – After his best start of the day everything started to go wrong for Adam and he was another one of the victims to come off (twice) on this unforgiving track.
Final positions – 1st Luke Cooper, 2nd Harry Miller, 3rd Jamie Morgan...... Adam 10th.
Thanks to all Adam's great sponsors for their support.
NETT Rnds 3 & 4 – Blue Barns 2,3.05.10.
Bbbbaltic Bbblue Barns – May Bank Holiday weekend and its freezing cold..... Typical!

Rnd 3 moto 1 – Whilst Leon Rogers (151) and Dean Colhoun (43) were away dicing with the 250 hybrids at the front, with Tom Charlesworth (55) and Scott Pounder (111) spread out a little further behind. Back in the dust, the 250 rookies -Adam, Frazer McFadden (245) and Harry Miller (5) were having their own battle. It was Frazer that was managing to hold off Harry, while Adam waited to pick up the pieces, then halfway around the last lap Frazer appeared to stall, letting Harry and Adam through to take 5th and 6th place respectively. We later found out Frazer had ran out of fuel........ Oops dad!!!
Moto 2 – Disaster for Adam and Scott Pounder. After a poor start from Adam, things went from bad to worse when first his chain came off, then it broke, leaving him stranded trackside. Scott took a bad fall, fortunately in the opposite direction to his bike, which went crashing end over end leaving it in a very sorry state.
Moto 3 – Albeit battered and bruised, Scott was on the line for the last race, but would eventually finish a lap down. This time it was Tom (55) that took the win from Leon (151), Harry finished 3rd followed by Frazer who had taken Adam in the 3rd lap, relegating him to a disappointing 5th place.
Final positions 1st Leon Rogers, 2nd Tom Charlesworth, 3rd Harry Miller........ With a DNF, last place Adam!

Monday - With the track reversed for today’s meeting, it was back to the start line for another day’s racing.
Rnd 4 moto 1 – A slightly better gate position for Adam, but he didn’t make the most of it and struggled to make any headway, finishing 6th, 10 seconds down on Frazer, Leon Rogers taking the win.

Moto 2 – Despite another poor start, Adam showed some aggression out on the track, jumping really well and cornering hard and fast, unfortunately he was continually baulked by one of the slower hybrids who he would catch in the corners but didn’t have the power to stay with on the straights. Finally making a pass on the penultimate lap he finished 5 seconds down on Frazer who had been battling with Harry for third place.
Moto 3 – Fired up by his previous performance, Adam was out to show what he could do with a mere 17.5 BHP against the high performance opposition. He had, as good gate position as he was going to get, with the hybrids all getting first pick and he made the most of it. Harry who was just in front, battled with one of the hybrids for a couple of laps before finally getting through, then it was Adam’s turn. After a few failed attempts, it was flat out down the back straight over the two jumps and Adam made it past the hybrid, only to lose the position as they powered up the hill. With just a lap to go Frazer is closing in on Adam, but Adam responds and puts his fastest lap of the weekend in to stave off the attack, just hundredths quicker than Frazer and finishing less than 2 seconds behind Harry, still with the hybrid between them... Phew, that was close!
Final positions 1st Leon Rogers, 2nd Tom Charlesworth, 3rd Harry Miller, 5th Adam.
Big thanks to Rob Swinbank (MotoDirect) for all the Motul goodies.
Thanks to all Adam's great sponsors for their support.

28.04.10 Shock Tactics
No we didn’t wire Adam up to the car battery, this was the day that Adrenalin ATV had arranged for us to get together with Penske/Custom Axis and do some work on the suspension set-up for Adams 250.
Currently we have no plans to touch the engine, at all. We have a pipe a CDI and a re-jetted carb and an absolutely stock engine, but we also have what we believe to be the best suspension set-up available with the Custom Axis Pro Air shocks and the very first Houser Raptor +4 A-arms at the front and Custom Axis AS-R Dual Rate shock at the rear. As this is Adam’s first year in the 250 mods, we are keen to see how far we can go with the handling before increasing the engine performance.
The venue had been arranged for the MX track at Mallory, however at the last minute we learnt that the track wouldn’t be open due to problems with their watering system, so a small private practice track was sought and proved ideal.
We followed Andrew (Adrenalin ATV) and Sean (Penske) to the track and while Adam changed into his kit, Sean checked out the shocks and noted all the settings.
Adam hit the track for a couple of sighting laps and then started to open it up while Sean observed. Sean then spent the next 3 hours making adjustments; Adam would report back how the bike was handling with each new setting and Sean would make adjustments and note them down.

Adam hammers out another lap while Andrew and Sean observe.

Sean makes adjustments and notes them down while Adam gets his breath back.
Now obviously we’re not that naive as to think these settings will work on every track, but we are confident that we have a good bench mark and with the advice that has been passed on we believe we can fine tune these superb shocks to suit the varying conditions.
Thanks to Sean and Andrew for their time, it was really appreciated.
QRS Rnd 2 Cardenden 25.04.10.
600 mile round trip at the weekend....... We must be crazy!!
The track looked great, quite technical with plenty of jumps, the ground was hard and dry, that was until the morning rain put a dampener on the proceedings and racing was postponed until mid-day.
With the rain stopped and the sun threatening to come out, the organisers were set to do whatever they could to squeeze all three blocks into the afternoon........ Hats off to them, they did it!
With all three 250 classes running together and it being Adam’s first QRS race, he had to settle for a back row position at the start line. Battling through the bunches of standard class riders is no easy task in the early laps, as they are all racing amongst themselves, however once Adam was through, he was on a charge and managed to finish 4th in class, but better still a front row start for his next moto.
Race 2 was great to watch, while young Murray Graham (96) was out in front again leading the class, the fight for second place was raging and as Adam picked off those in front one by one, there was only Andrew Komar (88) on a Blaster between him and Murray, they swapped positions a few times and then disaster struck and Adam’s chain came off, relegating him to last position.
Race 3 and it’s another back row start. This didn’t deter Adam, cutting through the pack to finish 4th, just a second behind AJ Third (8) and 3 seconds behind Andrew Komar, with Murray Graham making it 3 out of 3.
All in all a pleasing days racing, the end result wasn’t the best, but it’s nice to see Adam up there yet again with an absolutely stock engine competing against machines that are highly tuned.
Adam had the privilege of riding Murray’s 250 the weekend before and knows how much quicker it is than his bike, but until he earns a few podium finishes the hard way, we’re sticking with the stock engine and relying on Adam’s skills and the superb Houser/Custom Axis set-up to get him up there.
Final Results 1st Murray Graham, 2nd Andrew Komar 3rd AJ Third & 4th Adam.
Thanks to all Adam's great sponsors for their support.

Setting off from home early afternoon Saturday, little did we know it would take us 6 hours to get to the event. With the M62 shut over Saddleworth Moor, we were diverted in a bumper to bumper convoy though the villages around the incident adding just a few miles to the journey, but an extra two and a half hours!
Sunday morning’s pre-race briefing and Matt Alberti paid tribute to the sad passing of Brian Winrow, father of Multi British Champion Paul Winrow. Our sympathy goes out to the Winrow family.
Brian was one of the original UK ATV racers, competing in the 1982 Honda ATC championship and went on to support and mechanic for Paul throughout a large part of his career, only taking a back seat in recent years.
After a few weeks of waiting for decent weather it was time for Adam to get his new kit out, thanks go to 1st MX for a great deal on the FOX MX gear and special thanks to Stu at ZIP Racing for the great shirt printing.

FOX gear from

....... Thanks guys.
Onto the racing and moto 1 kicked off to a good start for Adam, with a second place in the Mod class behind Tom Charlesworth, with Leon Rogers in third.
Moto 2 and an early mistake while chasing after Scott Pounder let Frazer McFadden through, relegating Adam to 5th, while out in front it was Leon Rogers battling with the 250 hybrids and taking the chequered flag.
Moto 3, after a great start off the line behind Leon and Tom, first Frazer managed to slip past in the second lap and by the 5th lap Scott had closed the gap and was pushing for Adam’s position, which he finally took and Adam disappointingly had to settle for another 5th place, giving him 4th overall.

NORA MX – Enstone 04.04.10.
The switch from the track with no jumps at Culham to Enstone was a good call, unfortunately the weather turned on us and the Saturday meeting was cancelled, that just left us with Easter Sunday, which with the rain pouring down until 5 in the morning, this was also looking doubtful!
We normally run the brilliant little ITP Quad MX 18x8x8 tyres, but with track conditions we opted for the stock Raptor tyres with their wide tread pattern to hopefully clear the mud. They worked well in practice and as the track was still quite muddy, Adam lined up for his first moto with them still on.
Adam got a great start and was in second place behind the flying Luke Cooper at the first check point, then a mistake in the first full lap allowed Josh Waring, Tom Downes and Harry Miller through. With Billy Langford breathing down his neck, Adam battled on to keep his 5th position to the end of the race.
Moto 2 – With the track drying out, we put the ITP’s back on and Adam headed for the start gate and a pretty uneventful race finishing in 7th, Luke Cooper taking the win again.

Moto 3 – Adam wheelies out of the gate to another great start, taking it wide, while on the inside there was a pile-up. This was Adam’s chance to open up a lead and gain some much needed points. Then the chain came off....... Do you know how hard it is to find neutral when the chain is off? Adam does! With the chain back on and 18 bikes in front of him, Adam rejoins the race a whole lap down, but he doesn’t let it get to him and he races hard all the way to the finish.

So with what promised to be a 4th overall Adam is relegated to 7th... Don't count your chickens, especially at Easter!!
1st Luke Cooper, 2nd Harry Miller & 3rd Josh Waring.
Thanks to all Adam's great sponsors for their support.
NETT Rnd 1 Armthorpe 21.03.10
After a couple of weeks without rain it was disappointing to see the weather deteriorate as the weekend approached. Arriving late Saturday afternoon we witnessed a few solo riders caked in mud after their day’s practice and just a small number of NETT members scattered around the swamp that used to be the paddock...... Had it been called off?
Sunday morning, clear blue skies, paddock full and beyond the swamp the promise of what would be almost perfect track conditions.
Adam and Frazer McFadden looked set to continue their track battles from last season, with just a couple of points separating them, both having just moved up to the 250 mod class and still with a lot to learn before they can compete with some of the more seasoned riders.

Adam’s Adrenalin ATV Raptor ran faultlessly all day and handled like a dream, we’re still learning how best to set the Custom Axis/Houser suspension up for the various track types and conditions, but we’re getting there!
The day’s events ran smoothly thanks to all the organisers.
Final positions: - 1st Leon Rogers, 2nd Andy Britton Jnr, 3rd Scott Pounder, 4th Adam

NORA MX Rnd 1 Wroxton 14.03.10
Adam’s debut on the Adrenalin ATV 250R Pro MX.
With only one practice session since last October the first race of the season was always going to be tough, quite how tough we didn’t know until after the first moto!
We arrived late Saturday afternoon and in the remains of the cool sun, pitched up camp, signed on and had the bikes scrutineered all set for Sunday’s racing.

A sunny Sunday morning and after breakfast Adam and dad Jason walked the track. Love it or hate it the Wroxton track is always immaculately prepared, sweeping up and down a natural bowl with long fast straights and hairpin bends, it just lacks jumps, suiting the higher powered bikes...... Burn & turn!
Practice went well with Adam scoring 6th fastest time in the 250 mods with Luke Cooper and the two Josh’s Waring and Coombs 1st, 2nd & 3rd respectively.
Moto 1. As the riders settled into the race there was a clear split between the leaders and a group of four containing Adam, Matt Payne, Frazer McFadden and Charlie Harrison all battling for 7th place which Adam managed to hold for the last 5 of the 9 laps, but it was Matt that took it back from Adam on the last lap.
With a few tweaks to the Custom Axis shocks, it was out on the track for the second moto. Again the same four fought for 7th place, with Frazer pushing Matt hard and Adam sitting on Frazer’s wheel. Frazer finally made it past only to stall moments later coming out of a corner. Matt was away again, but Adam couldn’t catch him and Charlie was closing in, then when Adam tried to run wide around a berm, Charlie cut in tight and made an easy pass, pushing Adam down to 9th.

Before going out for the final race of the day Andrew Shepherd of Adrenalin came over to make some more alterations to the set up to improve the handling. Adam was going pretty well until half distance when he missed his braking point, sending him high up a berm letting both Frazer and Charlie through, relegating him down to 9th.
The day’s events ran like clockwork thanks to the Nora team.
Final result: 1st Tom Downes 2nd Josh Waring 3rd Jamie Morgan 8th Adam James
